One woman, one suit, one job can change the world!
For the past 18 years, I was a stay-at-home mom. My focus was being here for my kids when they needed me most. I held odd jobs for short periods of time in this time period, but never had a career. Starting my own business four years ago was a dream come true, but returning to the workforce was difficult and there was a huge learning curve.
This year I was introduced to Dress for Success Houston by one of their local volunteers who was collecting business clothes for women. I remember what it was like starting my career after raising kids and loved their mission and I wanted to help celebrate the women who have successfully completed their program and have had their life changed through their empowering services!
On August 1, 2020, we brought in 15 women and their families for a 30 minute professional portrait session. Along with a traditional headshot, we also did a mini-branding session with several different poses that make them look spectacular!
The mission of Dress for Success Houston is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help women thrive in work and life.
Since 1998, Dress for Success Houston has provided business attire, a much-needed boost of confidence, and job retention and career advancement services to more than 43,500 women in the Houston community. In 2019, Dress for Success Houston will add more than 3,750 women to its growing number of success stories.
